Tent: Food LA -- March 16-22, 2014 – APPLY NOW

Tent seminars are a week long workshops across the US andCanada to help bridge the connection between modern culture and “Jewishness”.  There is an upcoming workshop in L.A. that is free and targeted to anyone 21 to 30 who is curious about the ethical practices in the food industry.  Los Angeles is a wonderful venue for this symposium, as there is a wide array of culinary talents.

The deadline for applying is November 24, and the event will be March 16-22, 2014 at the Skirball Cultural Center.

I shot a Jewish cookbook earlier this year, which recently came out, and as I read about this event I can’t help but think the author, Michael Zusman would be a wonderful resource for an event like this. His cookbook is a collection of more than 100 recipes, photographs, historical tidbits, and reference materials.  If you can’t attend this event (or even if you can!) this cookbook, “The Artisan Jewish Deli at Home,”  could help offer a similar narrative.

Too bad I don’t fall into the age cut-off!  I’d love to attend.
